How to read your insulin syringe
  1. 1On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units = 1 ml. Each small line = 1 unit; each numbered line = 5 or 10 units.
  2. 2Your vial holds 10 mg dissolved in 2 ml → concentration 5.00 mg/ml.
  3. 3For a 2.5 mg dose, pull the plunger until the tip reaches the 50.0 unit mark (0.500 ml) — shown on the syringe above.
  4. 4This vial gives you about 4 doses at this strength.
